The Order of Nurses, Midwives and Medical Assistants in Romania (OAMGMAMR) is a professional and regulatory organization with the role of developing norms and rules for practicing the profession of nurse, midwife and medical assistant.

OAMGMAMR members are nurses, midwives and medical assistants who practice their profession on the territory of Romania.

OAMGMAMR collaborates with the Ministry of Health for the development of practice standards and protocols, the organization and holding of competitions and exams, as well as for the training, specialization and improvement of the professional training of nurses, midwives and medical assistants.

Continuing medical education, supporting the development of research and organizing scientific events in the field of nursing are important activities of OAMGMAMR.

OAMGMAMR is a member of the International Council of Nurses (ICN) and the European Nursing Council (ENC), and currently OAMGMAMR holds the presidency of ENC.

Promoting patient safety and ensuring the safety of nurses, midwives and medical assistants is a top priority of OAMGMAMR, reflected in the development of numerous projects and actions aimed at improving safety and quality in health care.

The main directions of the projects carried out by OAMGMAMR are oriented towards the development of the professional skills of nurses, midwives and medical assistants, the standardization of the care process, patient-centered care, the implementation of evidence-based best practices, scientific research and leadership.
