MR. ANDREA RAPPAGLIOSI (SWITZERLAND)
Representative of Edwards Lifesciences
Andrea is currently Senior Vice-President Public Affairs EMEA, Canada and LATAM at Edwards Lifesciences based in Switzerland and member of the regional Executive Leadership Team. He is leading the Government Affairs, Market Access, Communication and Patients Advocacy engagement for the company.
Born in Rome, Andrea received a law degree from the University of Rome, La Sapienza. Andrea began his professional career in the Italian Senate. In the last fifteen years, Andrea represented the healthcare Industry in several European EU Commission and Member States initiatives such as the HTANetwork, EUnetHTA Joint-Action 3, and the EU Active & Healthy Aging Innovation Partnership and the EU Joint Action on Vaccination. He was President of EuropaBio the European Association of the biotech Industry (2009-2011), and of Vaccines Europe, the European Industry manufacturers association (2013-2017). Andrea is a founding member of the Global Policy Forum at HTAi – the scientific and professional society for all those who produce or use health technology assessment (HTA) and he is currently chairing the MedTech Europe HTA Committee.
During his 25+ years in the healthcare industry, Andrea has demonstrated a strong commitment to achieving the best and safest outcomes for patients. This requires unceasing collaboration between medical professionals, healthcare stakeholders and industry based on mutual trust and a focus on common aims. He has a long track record of working collaboratively with a wide range of stakeholders at both national and EU level and Andrea will bring his knowledge and experience for the benefit and further development of the EUPSF.
